Community Health Service Volunteer Activity in Bengkala Village Academic

`

On Saturday, August 3, 2024, the ENT-HL Department/Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University/Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Hospital, conducted a community service activity in the form of health services and ear examinations in Bengkala Village, Kubutambahan District, Singaraja.

This activity was organized in collaboration with Udayana University’s KKN (Community Service Program) students in Bengkala Village and received an enthusiastic response from the local community. Services provided included health education, ear examinations, and simple procedures such as ear cleaning (ear toilet) to prevent hearing problems caused by cerumen buildup.

The community service not only delivered direct medical benefits but also served as a means of community engagement, aligning with the university’s mission to support rural public health. Through this activity, it is hoped that public awareness of the importance of ear health will increase, while also strengthening the relationship between medical professionals, students, and the community in efforts to improve quality of life.

This event was also part of the 2024 International Guest Lecture (IGL) series, combining academic, healthcare service, and community engagement aspects. As such, it contributes to fulfilling the university’s tridharma values—education, research, and community service—in a comprehensive manner.
