In commemoration of World Cancer Day, observed every year on February 4, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ENT-HNS) at RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah held a public health education event titled: Recognizing Early Symptoms and Managing ENT-HNS Cancers

The event took place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM Central Indonesia Time (WITA), at Harmoni Bali, and was broadcast live on Bali TV.

The session featured expert speaker Dr. dr. I Gde Ardika Nuaba, Sp.T.H.T.B.K.L., Subsp.Onk.(K), FICS, a specialist in ENT-HNS at RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah, who also holds a subspecialty in oncology.

This initiative aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of early detection and appropriate management of ENT-HNS cancers, which include cancers affecting the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck regions.

Through clear, accessible medical education based on the latest scientific knowledge, the event encouraged the public to be more vigilant about the early warning signs of cancer and understand the appropriate steps to take when encountering suspicious symptoms.

This activity is part of RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah’s ongoing commitment to supporting global efforts against cancer, while also promoting healthy lifestyles in the community.

Beyond medical education, the event also aimed to encourage healthy living habits, such as quitting smoking, reducing excessive alcohol consumption, maintaining a balanced diet, and using protective equipment when working in high-risk environments.
