As an effort to improve the competence of teaching staff and students, Department of ENT-HNS Health Sciences Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah Hospital in collaboration with PT. Medel Indonesia, held a Guest Lecture by Professor Dr. Tang Ing Ping from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. The lecture was held on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 at 09.00 WITA in the Meeting Room of Department of ENT-HNS Health Sciences Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah Hospital which is located in 4th Floor of Cempaka Building. The main topic was about Auditory Brainstem Implant (ABI). In addition, other topics were also presented regarding tinnitus, vertigo/dizziness, and Endoscopic Endonasal Skull Base Surgery.

The lecture was opened by the Coordinator of the ENT-HNS Health Sciences Study Program Udayana University, Dr. dr. Made Lely Rahayu, Sp.T.H.T.B.K.L Subsp. Auto (K). Not only offline, the activity also took place online, followed by several study programs such as the Department of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Pediatrics at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah, all residents and of ENT-HNS Health Sciences Prof. dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah Hospital with a total attendance of nearly 100 participants.

The lecture activity was then continued with interview and consultation with patients who suffered from post-meningitis hearing loss who had the potential for ABI surgery. Hopefully this activity will open up new insight and perspective in understanding and managing patients with hearing loss.
